BayfrontWX Webcam - Previous 1 Hour

BayfrontWX is host to an AmbientCamHD IP camera system in order to record weather events. The camera is mounted at the peak of the roof, just below the anemometer, and is directed toward the east-southeast, as it seems a great deal of our bad weather comes from that direction. Unfortunately, sunsets are not visible from this position as the view is blocked by numerous large trees located to the west of the camera location.

In order to save bandwidth, the small webcam image on the homepage is updated every five minutes. The "Current" image, accessible from the fly-out menu or by clicking on the homepage image, is updated every 1 second, providing near-realtime video. The "Previous 10 Min" and "Previous 1 Hour" videos are updated at 10 second intervals, while the "Since Midnight" video is updated every 30 seconds.

Video processing and text overlay is made possible using Brian Hamilton's Weather-Display software.
